James Benton Obituary

James Edward Benton age 57 of Whiteville passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.
He was the son of the late George Lennon Benton Sr. and Linda Gail Nobles Benton. He was also preceded in death by a stepbrother, Roger Sellers.
He is survived by his brother, George L. Benton, Jr and his wife, Melinda of Chadbourn; nephew, Josh Faircloth and his wife, Denise; their girls Harley, Peyton, River; and three stepsiblings, Leroy Sellers of Whiteville, Kenny Sellers and wife Pam of Lake Waccamaw, and Carol Bowen and husband Elton of Whiteville.
Family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to James' friends at the Post Office, DaVita, Ebay, Francos, and many others.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024 at 7:00 pm at Worthington Funeral Home, with Pastor Dean Jackson officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until time of the service.
The family would like for friends and family to share memories by bringing photos of James to display during the visitation and celebration service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
