James "Jim" Timothy Boerckel, 66, of Zeeland, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2025. James was born April 26, 1959, in Peoria, Illinois, to Robert and Lael (Haggerty) Boerckel. He graduated from Limestone High School in Peoria, and later graduated from Illinois State University. On April 17, 1982, Jim married Kathleen Klopfenstein and they raised four sons together. Jim and Kathy were called to the mission field serving in Austria, California, and West Michigan. They moved to West Michigan in 2001. Jim and Kathy are members of Georgetown Bible Church. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jill Kristine Boerckel. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kathy, their children and grandchildren: Aaron and Kayla Boerckel, Micah and Jessica Boerckel (Lucy, Moses, Lisette, Olive, Swede, Zion), Weston and Emily Boerckel (Oaklyn, August, Aubrey), Samuel and Haley Boerckel (Berlin), siblings: Scott and Carol Boerckel, Ritch and Kimberly Boerckel, Joy and Joe Unseth; in-laws: Carol and Scott Boerckel, Jim and Nancy Klopfenstein, Tom and Nancy Klopfenstein, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Interment will be in North Holland Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM, on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Georgetown Bible Church, 4114 Baldwin, Hudsonville, MI 49426. Visitation will be 10:00 AM-11:30 AM, Friday, prior to the service. A light luncheon will follow the service at church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in honor of James T.
