James Earl Boger of Nashville, Michigan, formally of Clarksville, Michigan, passed away March 5, 2026. He was born on November 4, 1959, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the son of Jacob Richard and Joy Elaine (Leazenby) Boger. He was a 1977 graduate of Lakewood High School.
It’s impossible to think of Jim Boger without thinking about how intelligent he was, and if you didn’t think of it, he would remind you! Jim enjoyed 21 years as the Sales Manager at AIS Equipment. He is the kind of person people just listened to and trusted. Jim built so many relationships and loved his job. He was a member of Thank God First Cowboy Church.
Outside of work, Jim lived life all the way. He, along with his wife Tina, loved trail riding horses and tending to their hobby farm with his beloved German Shepherd, Charlie. He loved spending time at the family lake cottage and traveling. He was always reading, learning, drawing, designing, and improving himself and the lives of everyone around him. But the heart of Jim’s world was always his family. He took pride in being a husband, father, grandpa, friend, and mentor. He especially enjoyed attending his kids' and grandkids' athletic events, often being the loudest in the crowd. Jim made people better just by being Jim. He was always ready to teach life lessons, encourage laughter with a dad joke, or administer much-needed tough love. His absence will be deeply felt, but his impact will stay with us forever.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Joy Boger.
He is survived by his wife of 6 years, Tina Boger of Nashville, Michigan, daughters Amy (Derek) Byers of Roscommon, Michigan, Angela (Jason) Peymbroeck of Hastings, Michigan, Amber (Jeremy) Frye of Hastings, Michigan, son Tyler Boger of Hastings, Michigan, daughters by marriage Kara (Matt) Muha of Sebring, Florida, Ashley Mott (Grant Daggett) of Clarksville, Michigan, and Amanda (Josh Heemstra) Sterzick; grandchildren Paxton, Jackson, Jace, Trenton, Natalee, Scott, Ryan, Mackenzie (Josh), Noah, Jordyn (Zach), Gage, Brayden, Brinley, Gavin, Charlotte, Luke, and Macy, as well as 4 great-grandchildren; sisters Joette (Bob) Hudberg, Janine (Bryin) Nelson and brothers John (Evelyn) Boger, and Rich (Jolene) Boger; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, with a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 PM at Thank God First Cowboy Church, 1585 East M-79 Highway, Hastings, MI 49058. Memorial Contributions can be made to the James E. Boger Memorial Fund at Barry Community Foundation, 231 S. Broadway St., Hastings, MI 49058 to support local education and his church.
