James Boudreaux
August 1, 1943 - June 20, 2025
James "Jim" Boudreaux, a native of Sunset and resident of Morgan City since 1963, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 20, 2025 at the age of 81.
James was affectionately known to his family and friends as Jim, Jimmy, Slim, Daddy, Grandpa and PawPaw. He was employed at McDermott in Amelia for 40 years and retired as the Superintendent of the west yard. He was a jack of all trades and would do anything for those that he loved. He was a skilled craftsman that could fix or build anything he put his mind to. If he didn't know how to do something he didn't stop until he figured it out. He was relentless in his pursuit of perfection, always making sure that the job was done correctly. As a devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church he used his God-given talents to repair and make improvements around the church, as well as volunteering at the Thrift Store. In his retired years you could often find him tinkering in his shed or riding his bicycle around Morgan City, often stopping to visit or check out a construction site.
James is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Nell Boudreaux; four children, Carmen Papania (Jino), James Boudreaux (Carmen Gros), Kim Robichaux (James) and Clarissa Adams (Lauren); five grandchildren, Rebecca Helbling (Bryant), Victoria Boudreaux, Mollie Duhamel, Nicole Ford (Harry) and Myron Boudreaux; five great-grandchildren, Cecilia Helbling, Lucas Helbling, Rosalie Suarez, Addison Ford and Audrey Ford; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clement and Elodie Boudreaux; a sister Mary Joyce Martin; a son, Myron Keith Boudreaux; and a grandson, Michael Boudreaux.
The family would like to extend a special thank you for the care given by the ACG Hospice Care Team, especially Joslynn, Nita and Deacon Jimmy; and to Nelda Dorsey of Leading Home Care for all of your kind and loving care and support; as well as the many family members and friends, too numerous to name, who provided food, love and support. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
Visitation will be held at Twin City Funeral Home on June 24, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 12:30am leading into a Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 1:00 PM. Following the Mass James will be laid to rest at the Mausoleum in Morgan City Cemetery. A Rosary will take place at Twin City Funeral Home at 11:00 AM.
