James Francis Boyle went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 1, 2024. Jim was born in St. Louis, Mo, on December 30, 1941 to John and Catherine Boyle.
James was married to his sweetheart, Shirley (Beckring), on October 10, 1964. They shared 64 wonderful years together. Their relationship has been an amazing display of true love that has been an inspiration to their children, friends, and all who knew them.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Shirley, the mother of his 8 children: James (Lori), Maureen, Sean, Melissa (James Langley), Daniel (Lindsey), Patrick (Bree Urech-Boyle), Megan (Sheldon Mitchell), and Michael (Laura).
His 13 grandchildren: Aaron, Paige, Caitlyn, Bridget, Kiley, Hayden, Eleanor, Grace, Kelby, Cecilia, Walter, Lucille, and Rosalia.
One surviving sister, Joan Baureis.
He is preceded in death by his siblings and their spouses: Jackie and Harold, Bill and Josie, Terry and Sandy, Denny and Carla, Mary Ann, Janet and Frank; and 3 angel grandchildren.
Jim had a passion for dancing with his favorite partner (Shirley), singing, gardening, Premier League Soccer, tennis, and classic movies. He was a member of St. Cletus Catholic Church for almost 40 years and greatly enjoyed singing in the choir. He spent his career working for Missouri Pacific Railroad, later known as Union Pacific Technologies, for 43 years from 1959 until his retirement in 2002.
Jim will be remembered for the love of his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed attending all of their music performances and being very involved in the grade school band program. His loud, supportive, and enthusiastic cheering at track and cross country meets, soccer and basketball games, and various other sporting events will always be cherished memories. Recollections of him whistling and singing around the house, and dancing with Shirley at weddings and other celebrations will always be held close in our hearts.
Visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. -9:30 p.m. on Monday, July 8th, at St. Peters Chapel, Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376.
