Mary Struttmann Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hutchens-Stygar Funeral & Cremation Center & Confluence Center on Mar. 1, 2026.
Mary Loveigh Struttmann, age 90, of St. Peters, Missouri, was called home to the Lord on February 27, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Mary was born on December 25, 1935, in Higginsville, Missouri, to John and Marie Hagerty. A lifelong Catholic, she was a faithful member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cottleville, where she found strength in prayer and the Sacraments. Mary lived her faith through her devotion to the Rosary, her generosity to her church and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and her unwavering love for her family.

Earlier in her life, while living in Kankakee, Illinois, Mary worked as a medical office manager. She took great pride in her work and cherished the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of the patients she served.

Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who found her greatest joy in time spent with her children and grandchildren. She was affectionately known by her many nieces and nephews as "Aunt Loveigh" and will be remembered for her strong faith, incredible kindness, and beautiful smile.

Mary is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 70 years, Melvin Struttmann; her children, Cynthia (Michael) Vavrik, Gerald (Lucinda) Struttmann, Richard (Teresa) Struttmann, and Julie (Keith) Kulawiec; her grandchildren, Adam Struttmann, Jacqueline Barton, Carly (DJ Terral) Vavrik, Katelyn Vavrik, Alexander Ferrara, Gina Struttmann, Adriana (Tyler) Thornton, Grace Vavrik, and Alyssa Kulawiec; and her great grandchildren, Tyson Struttmann, Stevie Vavrik, Donavan Barton, Zoe Terral, and Jocelyn Barton, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by her siblings Rita (Kenneth) Loseman and Patrick (Judi) Hagerty. Mary was preceded in death by her siblings Gloria (William) Tayloe and William (Patricia) Hagerty, as well as her parents.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hutchens Stygar Funeral Home on Mid Rivers Mall Drive in St. Peters, Missouri. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cottleville, with inurnment to follow immediately after the Mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to Evelyn's House BJC Hospice in Creve Coeur, Missouri.

"Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace."
