Jim had a heart of gold and found his greatest joy in spending time with his family and friends. He cherished his 49-year marriage, always taking care of his wife and spoiling her at every opportunity. His love for his family especially his grandchildren, as he took immense pride in watching his granddaughters grow into strong and fierce women. He also deeply admired Jamie for the family he has built and treasured the special bond he shared with Shane over the years as they would often take off on unapproved adventures. He loved his daughter Jess with all his heart and was so proud of the woman she has become as they bonded over their love of classic cars.

Jim had a passion for antique cars and enjoyed attending car shows. He was a long-time member of the East River Street Rod car club and deeply cherished the relationships he built there. He loved jeeping adventures, family cookouts, and family vacations—moments that brought him closer to those he loved most. Jim was also a dedicated coal miner for over 40 years.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Danny Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park where family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
