James Lee "Jim" Brock, Sr., 81, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024. He was born on January 30, 1943, in Des Moines, Iowa to James and Shirley (Marchant) Brock.
Jim Brock graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1960. This is where he met the love of his life, Nancy Thomas. They married on February 25, 1961. They welcomed their first son into the world in December of the same year. They had two more sons in the following years to complete their family. Jim spent his life watching his sons sporting events, traveling, fishing, telling funny dad jokes, and being the best Grandpa to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his sons, Timothy Brock (Felicia), Lonie Brock (Angela), and James Brock Jr. (Jackie), sister, Judith Pilacelli (Mike) grandchildren, Aimee Dierbeck (Bruce), Erica Brock, Cathryn Buehler (Christopher), Haleigh Howell (Peter), Trevor Brock (Eliza), James Brock III (Rebecca), and Hannah Augustyn (Clayton), and great-grandchildren, Davis, Waverly, Lincoln, and Campbell Buehler, and Wesley, Greyson, and Eli Howell.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Ann Brock, his parents, James and Shirley Brock, and his granddaughter, Payton Brock.
The family will receive guests for a visitation from 4:00-6:00 pm on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at Penwell-Gabel's Olathe Chapel. The funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Monday, September 30, 2024, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Emporia, KS.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to KU Cancer Center in honor of the deceased.
