Larry Eugene Brock, Sr., 82, of Easley, loving husband of Dorothy Faircloth Perry-Brock, passed away on Friday, June 16, 2023.
Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Loyd Lewis and Francis Ruth Hamby Brock. He was a proud PHD recipient from Parker High School Class of 1958. Larry co-owned Concept Homes, a residential contracting business with Rush Trammell - known for its innovative designs - which brought him much success and recognition in the industry. In addition to his work ethic, Larry will be remembered most for his passion for helping others subtly hidden by a gentle demeanor and calm nature. Those who knew him well described him as a person who would always go above and beyond to help those around him.
When Larry wasn't working, he could often be found participating in the cherished activities he loved most. He was a Shriner and a proud member of both the Carolina Shag Club of Greenville and The Electric City Shag Club of Anderson. He enjoyed playing golf with friends, going to the beach with family to relax during downtime, and dancing at shag clubevents. His unwavering dedication extended even into his spiritual life as Larry was one of the earliest members of Providence Presbyterian Church where he contributed immensely as a Charter Member and Elder.
In addition to his loving wife of 10 years are two sons, Larry Eugene Brock, Jr. (Kay) and Tim Brock (Kathy); two step-sons, Johnny Langley (Sherri), and Eric Perry (Kari); two step-daughters, Rhyan Langley (Terry) and Heather Perry Lewallen (Mark); one brother, Mike Brock (Connie); fourteen grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one grandchild, Timothy Ryne Brock.
The family will host a memorial service at Providence Presbyterian Church on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 2:00 PM. There will be a reception immediately following the service in the Ellenburg Activity Building at the church.
Memorials may be made to Providence Presbyterian Church, 4000 Highway 153, Greenville, SC 29611, or to The Shriners Hospital for Children, www.shrinerschildrens.org.
