James A. “Pete” Brown, age 89 of Glade Hill, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023. He was born July 2, 1933 to the late Fitzhugh and Orene Brown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by as son Calvin Brown; daughter Rhonda Philpott; brother Bill Brown; sister Betty Manning. Mr. Brown proudly served his country in the US Army. He ran several businesses during his career as a mechanic and loved anything to do with automobiles but it had to be a Ford.
Surviving are his children, son, Dale Brown (Annette); daughters, Martha Fralin and friend, Mickey, Jane Anderson(Darryl), Lisa Brown; grandchildren, Stevie Anderson (Cherie), Lindsey West (Ryan), Jeff Philpott (Ashley), Chelsea Green (Chris), Bridget Anderson, Tyler Quinn; great grandchildren, Conner Anderson, Mason Philpott, Grayson Green, Ainsley Green, Willough Philpott, Randi Baliles; brother Carol Brown; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Lynch- Conner-Bowman Funeral Home (Town Chapel). Interment will follow in the Brown Family Cemetery in Redwood. His family will be receiving friends from 12-1 p.m. Thursday prior to the service at Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Home, 140 Floyd Ave., Rocky Mount, VA,
