James Broxson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton on Nov. 14, 2024.
James "Jim" Lester Broxson, 88, passed away unexpectedly on November 5, 2024. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jeff and Irene Broxson; his son, Kirk Broxson; his daughter, Melody Broxson; grandsons, Dick, Mark, and Heath Crist; and sister-in-law, Linda Broxson. He is also preceded by his sister, Bernice Dillon and niece, Allison Dillon.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dianne Broxson; four children: Annette Crist (Ed), Michelle Bienkowski (Steve), Kerrie Allen (Greg), and Dana Skornia (Dallas); thirteen grandchildren: Cheri, Wade, Leslie, Delaina, Dusti, Michael, Emma, Abby, Evan, Kendall, Mason, Carter, and Sarah Cate; and seven great-grandchildren: Leah, Colton, Broxson, Rowan, Avalynn, Cameron, and Torin. He is also survived by his brother, Ken Broxson (Margie) and his nieces, Heather Burt (Randy) and Kim Johnson.
Jim worked civil service for 34 years at the Pensacola Naval Air Station, beginning as an apprentice and working his way up to General Foreman, where he oversaw a staff of more than 50. After retiring in 1987, he continued to work, dredging lakes with his best friend Hubert Thompson, traveling across the United States with Dianne, hunting and fishing with Ken and Hubert, and running his rug market, which was his very favorite thing to do.
Jim was a kind and gentle man, strong and capable. He was resourceful and always thinking of new things to do with the market. He was better than Google at directions and knew the location of every rest area in the eastern United States. He was a loving husband, brother, son, father, and grandfather. He was a man of few words, but his words were wise.
Jim became a Christian and was baptized in his fifties, and while we are saddened at our earthly loss, we take comfort in the fact that he waits for us in Heaven.
Visitation for Jim will be at 11am on Thursday November 14, 2024 at Trahan Family Funeral Home in Milton, with service to follow at 12pm. Pallbearers are Steve Bienkowski, Greg Allen, Dallas Skornia, Evan Stenerson, Mason Allen, and Carter Skornia.

I´m sorry.....I´m so late in finding out about Mr Broxson. My husband and I talked with him every time we were in NC at Uncle Bill´s.
He was a wonderful person to visit with and I´m very sad to hear of his passing. My Husband told me today he was at the flea market. A couple of years ago, he told us where he lived in FL and We Do Too! Small world! Please accept our condolences.
