Mr. James E. Burke

"He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak." Isaiah 40:29 In humble submission to the Will of God, Miller Funeral Services and Crematory sorrowfully announce the earthly departure of Mr. James E. Burke, 77 of Selma, AL.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 12:00 P.M. at Free Will Christian Church, 2401 N. Lauderdale St., Selma, AL. Rev. Jerry Holman, Officiant. Interment in Providence cemetery, Orrville, AL. Mr. James Edward Burke was born on July 26, 1948, in Orrville, AL., to the late Mr. Joseph and Mrs. Malinda Buke.
James confessed Christ and joined Providence Baptist Church, and later moved his membership to Freewill Christian Church, under the leadership of Elder Jerry Holman.
On Monday August 18, 2025, James transitioned to his eternal home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Malinda Burke, son, Darrell Irby, brothers, Joseph Burke, Eddie Burke, sisters, Addie Johnson, Eula V. Jones, Willie Mae Rouse, and Mary Westley.
James leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife, Gloria Burke, daughters, Keshia Turner, Rachel Flennory, stepchildren, Tamara Walker, Erika Walker, Ontrae Fain, sisters, Malinda Smith, Glenda Phillip, brothers, Jordan Burke, mother-in-law, Mary Walker, six sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
