James G. Bushy, age 61, of Shawano, formerly of Antigo, WI, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, January 6, 2026. He was born in Crookston, MN, July 2, 1964, son of the late Glenn and Theresa (Polak) Bushy and was a graduate of Antigo High School, Class of 1982.
Jim worked for many years at Winebrenner Shoe Factory in Antigo, WI. He was united in marriage to Donna Fletcher, April 26, 2003. They shared 18 years of marriage before Donna passed away, December 4, 2021.
Jim was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed fishing. He loved to grill and cook for his family and friends. Jim truly cherished nights out, celebrating with an Old Fashioned and some good food. Watching sports was one of his favorite past times and loved to cheer on the Packers and Brewers. In addition to sports, he also enjoyed watching his other shows, most notably QVC, where he purchased items to his heart's delight.
James is survived by his son, Brandan (fiancée, Melanie Conte) Bushy; step-daughter, Elizabeth (Dakota) Knapp; significant other, Dawna Myers; his brother, Mike (Julie) Bushy; his sister, Janet (fiancé, Jim Leveque) Clark and 2 step-grandchildren, Brooklynn and Garrett Knapp. He is further survived by a brother-in-law, Dan Brickheimer, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; siblings: Laura Brickheimer, Brenda Wensel, Robert Bushy and Linda (Phil) Arrowood and an uncle, Larry Polak.
