I Will remember Jim as being a pillar in his church community. Saint Matthews Episcopal Church in Sparta was where I got to know Mr. and Mrs.Byers and their 4 children. Our families spent Sunday mornings together, almost every week my entire childhood. Jim was a quiet spoken, gentle man that loved his family and friends fiercely. my love to the Byers family. Thanks for the memories John, Kathy, Laura, (and David. )

I will always remember Jim for his kindness and for always making you feel so special. When we first joined Holy Spirit Episcopal Church, he made us feel very welcome. There were many times that we marveled at the wealth of knowledge he shared during our conversations. He along with Pearl will be missed by all who knew and loved them.
