James "Tommy" Thomas Callicutt, age 84, of Asheboro went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 2, 2025 while in the care of The Randolph Hospice House. He was born October 18, 1940 in Randolph County, North Carolina the son of the late Ervin Callicutt and Edith Frances Luck Callicutt. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, Henry Callicutt and Don Callicutt; sister, Nancy Callicutt; nephew, Johnny Nance; and niece, Tiffany Callicutt. "Tommy" embodied a life rich in love, dedication, and service. A proud graduate of Seagrove High School class of 1959, Tommy spent his career with General Electric/Black & Decker until his well-earned retirement. Even after his retirement, his zest for life took him to the open road as a truck driver, where he found joy in seeing the world through the view of a dirty windshield. Tommy's heart was most full when surrounded by family. He cherished every moment spent together, especially on vacations filled with laughter and love. His passion for music and community shone brightly through his legendary BBQs, where he and his work family, the Qualiteers of General Electric, hosted gatherings to assist those in need. A man of many talents, Tommy's amazing pound cakes were a symbol of his generosity, always shared with those he loved. His faith was a guiding light throughout his life, as he devotedly attended Antioch Missionary Church. Through his actions and words, Tommy's unwavering belief in the Lord inspired all who knew him. His legacy of kindness, community, and devotion will continue to uplift and inspire those fortunate enough to have been touched by his presence. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Debbie Callicutt and Lori Callicutt; grandchildren, Jordan Callicutt and Zane Callicutt (Sarah); great grandchildren, Xavier Williams and Jasper Callicutt; sister, Doris Rush; and numerous other beloved family and friends. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Callicutt Memorial Church, 3331 R H Drive,
Asheboro, NC 27205. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in Callicutt Memorial Church Cemetery in
Asheboro, North Carolina.
