James L. Calvert, age 70, of Kansas Oklahoma went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, February 4th, 2026.
James was born on February 13th, 1955, in Hohenwald, Tennessee to James Edward Calvert and Essie Aileen (Harper) Calvert. He was married to Elizabeth Irene (Hanna) Calvert of Oaks, Oklahoma.
James retired after many years of working at Mckee Foods (Little Debbie’s). James was an accomplished wood worker and could build anything he put his mind to. He enjoyed taking care of his yard, traveling, and having a meal out with family. Most importantly, he was a child of the most high God and attended the Gospel Lighthouse Church of Kansas, Oklahoma.
James is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Calvert; one son, James Jonathan Calvert; one daughter Leslie Woods and husband Josh; four brothers, Thomas Calvert, Steven (Justin) Huckabee, Jimmy Calvert and Doug (Rhonda) Calvert; two sisters, Joann (Pedro) Soto, and Norma (Robert) Underwood; an aunt Shirley Harper; an uncle and aunt John and Loretta Calvert; special friends Greg and Leigha Lankston, and a host of family and friends.
James was preceded in death by his parents, James and Aileen Calvert of Kansas, Oklahoma.
Visitation will be held at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, Arkansas from 5-8pm on Monday, February 9th, 2026.
Funeral services will be held at the Gospel Lighthouse Church located at 62737 State Hwy 10, Kansas, Oklahoma on Tuesday, February 10,2026, at 10am with Pastor Sam Andrews officiating. Burial will follow at the Kansas Cemetery.
