Bishop Cane is preceded in death by his parents, Elder David M. Cane and Mrs. Obera Cane; sisters, Eva Robbins, Yetta Barnes, Mae Harris, Otera Cane, Opal Cane, Shekela Otey, and Carrie Cane; brothers, David Cane, Wayne Cane, and Albon Cane; and son, James E. Cane Jr.
He leaves behind wonderful memories to: his devoted wife, Alvita M. Cane; his six children, Christine Cane-Wyatt (Dewayne), David Cane, Le'Derrius Dickerson, Vontisha Cane, Gwendolyn Cane, and Benjamin Cane; four brothers, Gentil (Sheila), Lonnie (Catherine), Gregg (Jean), and Kerry Cane; twelve grandchildren; devoted nephews, Jerron Barnes and Jerry Harris; devoted nieces, T'ongila Fuller, Renita Abernathy, and Teresa Harris; and a host of beloved and cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins. We recognize Rachel Cane, his step-mother, Tina Cane, and Marian Cane, who were like sisters. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Bishop James, please visit our Tree Store.
