James Don Carpenter, 63, of Porter, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, July 14, 2025. He was born on October 4, 1961, in New Prague, Minnesota. James graduated from Tahlequah Public Schools and went on to build a life rooted in hard work and passion. On November 14, 2014, he married Linda Isbell in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Their union was a cherished chapter in his life. A man of many interests, James found joy in the thrill of racing cars and riding motorcycles. He loved spending time outdoors-whether fishing on the lake or trail riding in a side-by-side. His love for poker added another layer to his spirited personality. Professionally, James was the proud owner of Sid's Farm Supply in Porter. His dedication to his business reflected his strong work ethic and commitment to his community. James will be truly missed by those who knew him. James is preceded in death by his mother, Faye Carpenter; his daughter, Lindsey Carpenter; and nephew, Darryl McGowin. Those left behind to cherish James' memory are his wife, Linda Carpenter of the home; father, Sidney Carpenter of Porter, Oklahoma; daughters, Laney McDaniel-Woodward and husband Bobby of Stillwell, Oklahoma and Haley Potter and husband Joe of Sheridan, Montana; son, Donald McDaniel of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma; sisters, Donna Abel of Haskell, Oklahoma and Teresa Carpenter of Porter, Oklahoma; extended family; and many friends. A celebration of James' life will be held by his family at a later date. William Wolfe, Jarren Robbins, Greg Dobson, Wayne Smith, David Martin, and Rooster McDaniel will serve as honorary urn bearers.
