James Clevenger Obituary
James E. "Jimmy" Clevenger, age 70, passed away in his home on April 30, 2023. Jim was born on June 19", 1952, and graduated from Washington High School in 1970. Jim was appointed to the Indianapolis Fire Department in 1977 on his first day out of recruit school and served his community until he retired in 2011. Jim was a lifetime westsider. Besides being an avid bow hunter and fisherman he loved riding his Harley and playing pool with his friends. He passed on his love of hunting and fishing to his great nephews who he loved dearly. Jim had a free spirit and an infectious presence that will be missed by all who loved him. Jim was the middle child of three siblings and is preceded in death by his father James M. Clevenger and mother Joyce Clevenger. Jim is survived by his two siblings, sister Jeanne Walter and brother Jay (Kay) Clevenger. Daughter Amy (Christopher) Dirig. Granddaughters Grace and Lauren Dirig. Niece Jennifer (Tom) Moore and great nephews Adam, Evan, and Alex.
Celebration of Life will be on May 11, 2023 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Bell Mortuary & Crematory, Royster-Askin-Sandrock Chapel, 2310 W. Washington St. Indianapolis, IN 46130.
