James Ronald Conner passed away unexpectedly Sunday, January 5, 2025, at the age of 46. After graduating from St. Xavier High School in 1997, Jimmy went to Miami University. Most recently, he worked as a realtor, and at Bee’s Barbecue in Over-the-Rhine. A born charmer and a hard worker, he was a natural in the hospitality industry.
Jimmy was a westside native and lived most of his life in Bridgetown. In a city known for its divisions and distinctions, he had a universal passport that cut across all lines of demarcation and social strata. Everyone knew him. He went by “James”, “Jim”, “Jimmy”, “Conner”, or even “Conners” (which technically was a misnomer, although he wouldn’t correct you). His moniker depended on the social circle of friends of which he had many. He made friends wherever he went and left a trail of stories and adventures in his wake.
No matter the time, no matter the endeavor, if someone needed help or something sounded fun, he was in. “I’m your huckleberry” he always said. No questions asked.
Jimmy enjoyed golf, fishing, travel, history and sporting events. He loved to spend time with his niece, Grace Berlin, and his nephews, Jack and Cooper Berlin.
He is survived by his mother, Paula Beyersdorfer Conner and his sister Lisa (Keith) Berlin plus numerous relatives and friends.
