SANTA FE – James "Jim" William Craig passed away at the age of 78 on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, in League City.

Born October 18, 1947, in Texas City, Jim was a resident of Santa Fe since 1994, previously of Manvel and Texas City. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 21 years, retiring with honor. Following his military service, he worked as an Instrument Technician at Union Carbide for 33 years. A lifetime member of VFW Post 5400, James was deeply committed to supporting fellow veterans and the community. In his free time, he enjoyed dancing, golfing, ham radio operation, and spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Theresa (Dodge) Craig; grandmother, Alice Dodge.

Survivors include his companion, Clara Juarez of Santa Fe; former wife, Marilyn Craig-Donaldson of Texas City; sons, Brian Craig and wife, Amanda of Seabrook, Clinton Kelm of Santa Fe, Curtis Kelm and wife, Jana of Dayton; daughter, Amanda Recknor and husband, Jarrod of Santa Fe, sister, Janet Morris and husband, Paul of Conroe; nephew, Chip Morris and family; grandchildren, Saydie Recknor, Blayne Recknor, Clinton Kelm, Jr., Haylee Kelm, Jena Kelm, Jared Carroll, Kara Craig, Kevin Craig, Taylor Nicolaidis, Hannah Kelm and great-grandchildren, Aria Carroll, Walker Carroll, Pete Nicolaidis, Kenlee Nicolaidis and Emerie Recknor.

Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Friday November 21, 2025, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX, with Pastor Joshua McDonald officiating. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Clinton Kelm, Sr., Clinton Kelm, Jr., Jarrod Recknor, Blayne Recknor, Curtis Kelm, Jr. and Jared Carroll.
