    With heavy hearts, we regretfully announce the passing of Mr. James Cord Cranford. Mr. Cranford passed away on Saturday afternoon, July 26th, 2025, at the age of 42, with his family by his side.

    Born in Greensboro, NC, James was a s son of the late Ronnie, Sr. & Linda Hopkins Cranford. He loved to go deer hunting and liked to stay busy.

    Surviving is his children: Drayton Cranford, Nathan Cranford, Austin Cranford, and Bailen Cranford; brother, Ronnie Cranford; special aunt, Margaret Cranford; cousins: Renee Stengel, Catherine “Winky” Ford, and Nicky Early; nieces & nephews: Shyanne (fiancé, Michael Peterkin) Cranford, Rayna-mae Cranford, Levi Boan, and Kamren Reynolds; also surviving are his great-nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

    His funeral service will be conducted at 4 o’clock on Tuesday afternoon, July 29th, 2025, from the Chapel of Norton Funeral Home. Reverend Jerry Gainey and Chaplain Layne Rogerson will officiate with the committal following in Patrick Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family also welcomes friends anytime at the home of Margaret Cranford, 1212 Sandwood Dr., Hartsville.
