James Michael 'Mike' Crump, 80, passed away August 11, 2024 at Hospice of Southern Kentucky.
The Bowling Green native was March 17, 1944 as a triplet to the late Ancil Bradley Crump and Lillian Cherry Crump. He was also preceded in death by the mother of his son, Betty Sue Gregory Crump and later wife, Barbara Crump; grand-daughter, Chasity Nicole Crump; siblings, Ancil Crump, Fred Crump, Arthur Crump, Joyce Brady, John P. Crump, and Carol Riddle; and nephew, David Bradley Walker. Mike was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He later worked in production at Firestone Textiles and in maintenance at Greenwood Mall. Mike loved antique cars and his 1928 Chevrolet Roadster was his pride and joy. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many.
Survivors include his son, Ricky Dale Crump (Kaye) of Munfordville; grandson, Coty Dale Crump (Jodi); several step-children; step-grandson, Damian Ray Hughes; siblings, Shirley Huff, Dixie Walker, and Mitchell Crump; several nieces and nephews; his caretaker, Teresa Hyde; and his good friends at Con-Cons.
Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday at the J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel with visitation from 4 until 7 p.m. Wednesday and after 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will take place at Fairview Cemetery next to Betty. Expressions of sympathy can be made to Hospice of Southern Kentucky.
