James Douglas Cryar

James Douglas Cryar, 81, of Lake Charles, LA, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 17, 2022.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, C.A. "Bubba" Cryar and Lynette of Clinton, LA, Patrick Cryar of Denham Springs, LA, Steven Burks and Anna of DeRidder, LA; daughters, Mary "Sissy" Sawyer and Jonathan of Clinton, LA, Denese Bailey and Kelton of DeRidder, LA; sister, Ivy Schwartz of Lake Charles, LA; grandchildren, Caitlyn Cryar, Clint Cryar, Claire Cryar, Ryan Cryar, Candice Baron, Jessie Shelton, Ethan Simmers, Brooke Sawyer, Kyle Burks, Cory Perkins, Ted Thompson, Katie Thompson, Brandon Bailey, Carissa Moore, Chase Burks, Brennon Felice, Jessica Walter, Breanna Simmons, Joseph Cryar, II, Cory Simmons; ~ thirty great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Cryar; sons, James Douglas Cryar, Jr., Joseph Curtis Cryar; daughter, Lisa Felice; granddaughter, Emily Simmers; parents, Joseph and Vergie Cryar; brother, Harvey Earl Cryar.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 19 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at New Life Pentecostal Church at 16803 Hwy 171 in Ragley, LA. Visitation will continue Saturday, August 20 from 9:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 also at New Life Pentecostal Church. Pastor Jeffrey Phillips and Reverend Glen D. Cooley will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Jessie Shelton, Ethan Simmers, Clint Cryar, Christopher Baron, Kyle Burks and Brandon Bailey. Burial will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
