Obituary of James McCauley Currie
Mr. James McCauley Currie, of Fort Walton Beach, Fl. left this world unexpectedly on March 4, 2025, at his residence. He was only 76 years old.
Born September 16, 1948, in Glasgow, Scotland, James a son of the late David and Lilian Currie, came to America April 21, 1956. He joined the United States Air Force April 24, 1967. While stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam War, James married the love of his life, Kanna Currie, February 19, 1975. Together they had two children, Misty Currie and David Currie.
James served his country for 24 years and retired as a MSgt August 31, 1991. Some of his greatest joy came from his wife and two children. They created many memories while enjoying trips as a family, visting Six Flags, Disney, Thailand, and camping. He volunteered as a coach for youth soccer and baseball and attended many of his children's sporting activities.
James is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Kanna Currie. James is survived and missed by his two sisters, Rachel Occhipinti and Debbie Martinez and his two children, Misty Currie and David Currie. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
A military funeral and committal service will be held 11am on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida.
