James "Jimmy" Danaher, 58, of Woburn, passed away on Friday, January 24th, after a brief illness surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sue (Frechette), of Woburn, and his beloved daughter, Meghan, of Arlington.
Jim was born and raised in Arlington, MA and attended Arlington High School, graduating in 1984. He was a hardworking and generous man who spent many years working at and later owning Hayes Instrument Service, proudly following in the footsteps of his late uncle, Danny Hayes. Known for his big heart, Jim always went out of his way to help others and was deeply committed to his family and many friends.
When he wasn't unwinding with a cold Budweiser, playing a round of golf, or watching sporting events, Jim's favorite moments were spent with Sue and Meghan-who meant everything to him.
Jim had a wide circle of friends who relied on him, and he in turn could always count on them. His friendships were a testament to his loyalty and generosity, and he will be remembered as a man who always showed up for the people who mattered to him.
Jim was the son of the late James and Catherine "Kay" (Hayes) Danaher of Arlington. He is survived by his three sisters, Kathleen Danaher and her husband Reid Lyons of Plymouth, Karen Lenehan and her husband John of Melrose, and Marybeth O'Brien and her husband Neal of Wakefield. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to honor Jim's life at DeVito Funeral Home, 1145 Mass. Ave., ARLINGTON on Tuesday, January 28 from 1 - 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim's memory may be made to Mission of Deeds Inc., 6 Chapin Ave, Reading, MA 01867 or missionofdeeds.org.
