James Davis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by John Everett & Sons Funeral Home at Natick Common on Aug. 6, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

James (Jim) Francis Davis, 75, of Natick, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on August 5th, 2025, surrounded by love.

Born on January 8th, 1950, in Boston, Jim was the son of the late Frances and Harold Davis of Natick. He grew up in Natick, where the roots of his gentle heart, quiet resilience, and unwavering love first took hold. He was the kind of person who made the world softer just by being in it. If you had the blessing of knowing Jimmy, you had a forever friend.

Jimmy was a passionate Boston sports fan. Even without his vision, he never lost his enthusiasm for the game-or for life. One of Jimmy's greatest joys was gardening with his sister Jeanne. With the greenest thumb you could imagine, he grew vibrant flowers and vegetables, always eager to share the fruits of his labor. He took pure joy in giving-whether it was a homegrown tomato, a handcrafted wooden treasure, or one of his legendary birthday calls, complete with him singing from the heart.

Jim worked for 20 years at Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick, developing X-rays in the darkroom-a fitting role for someone who, even in darkness, brought light to others. He loved woodworking, country music that stirred his soul, and, most of all, his family. His nieces and nephews held a special place in his heart, and he made sure they always felt it.

Jim was predeceased by his brother Harold Davis, his sister Mary Long, and her husband Robert. He is survived by his loving sisters Jeanne Davis and her partner Shawn Kerr of Wayland, Anne Davis of Natick, and Arlene McCormack and her husband Jim of Georgia; and by his brothers Ronald Davis of Natick and Robert Davis and his wife Mary of Plymouth.

He was the beloved uncle to Jessica, Rebecca, and Amanda, and their husbands George, Jason, and Chris; Danielle and Ana, and their husbands Nate and Chris; Marie, Susan, Donna, Billy and his wife Michelle; and Elizabeth, Michael, Jimmy, and John. He was also a cherished great-uncle to many and shared a special bond with his godson Christian, as well as Erika, Jackson, Emmy, Hannah, Leo, Logan, Ben, and Cassidy. He is also survived by his very dear friend, Danny Murphy.

His presence left an imprint on every heart he touched. We were truly blessed to have him for 75 incredible years. The world is dimmer without him, but heaven is surely brighter. We will forever carry a piece of Jimmy in our hearts.
