James A. Dean

James A. Dean, a dedicated Journeyman Electrician and a revered member of the IBEW Local 479, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at the Bonne Vie Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Port Arthur, Texas. He was born on August 10, 1932.
     Throughout his remarkable life spanning 91 years, James exemplified unwavering commitment and passion in everything he pursued. With an impressive service record of 55 years as a Journeyman Electrician and active involvement in the IBEW Local 479, James left an indelible mark on his colleagues and the electrical industry as a whole due to his infectious personality and lightheartedness. James will be remembered for always being a enjoyable and fun person to be around and for being able to lift the spirits of those around him.

     His love for classic cars was evident to all who knew him, as he cherished the beauty and nostalgia they carried within. Beyond his professional accomplishments, James served his country in the United States Army and was a longstanding member of the Port Neches Masonic Lodge #1163 AF/AM with over 50 years of service, showcasing his dedication to both country and community.
     In his journey beyond this life, James leaves behind cherished memories that will forever linger in the hearts of his loved ones. He is reunited in peace with his parents, James A. Dean, Sr. and Shelton Aycock Dean, along with his sister, Betty Jo Dixon who have gone before him.
     James is survived by his sons, Kyle Dean and his wife, Luba of Hockley, Texas, Al Dean of Nederland, Texas; daughter, Gail Bellucci of Melbourne, Florida; and his dear brother, Richard Dean and his wife, Shirley of Woodville, Texas.
     James A. Dean will be remembered not only for his professional achievements but also for the kindness and warmth he shared with all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul rest in eternal peace as his memory continues to brighten the lives of those he touched
     A celebration of James A. Dean's life will begin with a gathering of his family and friends on Friday, March 8, 2024 from 12:00p.m. to 2:00p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2:00p.m. at Melancon~Levingston Funeral Home located at 1605 Avenue H in Nederland, Texas. Entombment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland.
