"Together Again"

James R. Dial 91, of Glenmont, Ohio passed away September 20, 2025, peacefully at home.

Memorial services will be held 12 noon Thursday September 25, 2025, at Union Grove Church of Christ with Pastor Cliff Beck officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.

James was born April 4, 1934, in Glenmont, Ohio and was the son of Charles and Mildred (Kinsey) Dial. On May 13, 1961, he married Carole Chanay, and she preceded him in death on August 6, 2025. Jim was a graduate of Glenmont High School and a proud veteran of the United States Army; he was a long-time volunteer of the Glenmont Fire Department. Following his retirement from O-I, he drove bus for Glenmont head start for over ten years. Jim enjoyed fishing, bluegrass music, NASCAR races and traveling. Jim played on a semi pro baseball team, he was involved in his community, leading cub scouts and coaching little league. Jim was a member of the Killbuck VFW and Millersburg American Legion.

Jim is survived by his children, Jeffrey (Kathy) Dial of Bristol, TN and Jerry (Lee) Dial of Glenmont, OH; grandchildren Sheri (Alan) Bradley, Kaeli Dial, Alexx (Zach) Straits, Thomas Dial, Meagan Dial, Chandler (Zach) Totten and Chloé Dial; great grandchildren Sophie, Stella, Fiona, Camree and Asher and special niece Vickie Rinfret.

In addition to his wife of 64 years Carole, he was preceded in death by his siblings Donnie Dial and Helen Simpson.
