James Adrian Dick, age 68, of Butler, died Sunday, September 8, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Dick was born April 21, 1956, in Paterson, NJ the son of the late Adrian and the late Anna (Rafferty) Dick.
Jim graduated Paramus High School in 1974 and CUNY with a degree in Applied Science. He worked in advertising and was a print production manager. Jim loved golf, listening to music, and watching old westerns and war movies. He enjoyed camping and backpacking with family and friends. He was deeply involved in his daughter's school theatre, arts and sports, and a great coach for town recreation. Jim loved to entertain and plan events and he loved his pet cat Ariel.
Jim is survived by his devoted Mary (Shark) Dick, his beloved daughters, Elizabeth McGookin and husband Daniel of Randolph and Sara Hofmann and husband Kyle and cherished grandson, Martin of Oak Ridge, his loving siblings, Joyce Dick of Easton PA, and Kevin Dick and wife Judy of Bergenfield, NJ, sisters-in-law, Susan Silvestri and husband Angelo of West Virginia, Patricia Shark of PA, and Anni Shark of North Haledon. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by a sister Sharon Dick, and brothers-in-law Paul Shark and Steven Shark.
Visiting hours will be Sunday, September 15, 2024, from 11am to 1pm at The Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home Inc., 86 Bartholdi Ave., Butler, N.J. Family sharing will be Sunday at 12:30 also at the funeral home. All other services are private.
