James Paul Dickens aka “Bubba”, age 59, of Sherwood, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on August 9, 2025. He was born on August 2, 1966, in Conway, Arkansas to Nana Kay Thorn and the late James Eldon Dickens.

Bubba was known for being quick witted, always had a smile on his face and joke to share. Bubba served in the Arkansas National Guard from 1985-2007 as a Calvary Scout with Troop E 151st Calvary in Conway, Arkansas. He served in Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2004 and 2005, where he earned several ribbons and awards for his service. He loved spending time with his wife and family, especially with his nieces and nephews. He was passionate about his CNC machine, designing beautiful pieces of woodwork.

He is survived by his wife, Myndi Dickens; daughter, Ashleigh Nicole Loyd (Erik) of Covington, LA. Mother, Nana Kay Thorn of Greenbrier; stepdaughter, Shawnasy Kettle (PJ); two stepsons, Andrew Manasco and Devin Snow of Sherwood. Two grandchildren, Troy and Ryleigh Erikson; three step-grandchildren, Joerian, Estelle, and Zael Kettle. Two sisters, Jamie Kay Dickens Rose of Greenbrier and Lyn Dickens Beasley (Bryan) of Cabot; one brother, Timothy Dycus (Tiffany) of Mayflower. One niece, Ashely Edwards; five nephews, Spencer Briscoe, Kalob Dycus, Nathan Dycus, Chase Beasley, Austin Beasley and eight great-nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at 2:00pm on Saturday, August 23, 2025 and memorial service will be held at 3:00pm at Lifesong Baptist Church, Greenbrier, Arkansas. Burial will be at a later date at the Veteran Cemetery in the community of Birdeye, Arkansas.
