James V. DiGeronimo, Jr., 92, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, he was the son of James V. Sr. and Carmela (Spadafora) DiGeronimo. A lifelong resident of Leominster, Jimmy made a lasting impact on his community through his kindness, and unwavering devotion to family.
Jimmy was blessed with 66 years of marriage to his best friend and the love of his life, Phyllis. Jimmy and Phyllis’ deep Catholic faith shaped their hearts, cultivating a humble, virtuous, and steadfast life. Their enduring union was one of deep affection, a true example of a life built with love at its center. His faithful devotion was evident in the quiet acts of kindness and generosity he offered to others.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Consalvo), his three sons: James M. DiGeronimo and his wife Donna of Naples, Florida; John DiGeronimo of Bolton; and Robert DiGeronimo and his wife Kelly of Harvard. He leaves behind his cherished grandchildren—Daniel, Jason, Vincent, Jack, Joshua, Cassandra, Justin, and Evan—who brought him immense joy and laughter. He was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Henry and Heath.
“Uncle Jimmy” cherished his decades long relationship with the Consalvo family, who’s love and affection meant the world to him. His bond with them was a true gift, one that will never be forgotten.
Jimmy is survived as well by his sister, Dorothy St. Laurent, and her husband Ronald. James was predeceased by his brothers, Michael J. and Arthur P. DiGeronimo, and his sister, Rita Debitetto.
Jimmy graduated from Leominster High School in 1951, and went on to attend Boston College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1963.
As a co-owner of Victory Supermarkets, Jimmy’s career and life were dedicated to values of hard work and integrity. Throughout the years, he enjoyed working side-by side with the loyal, hard-working, and passionate associates, all of whom contributed to the 80 year success of Victory Supermarkets. Jimmy was thankful for so many treasured memories and shared experiences.
Jimmy found his greatest joy in spending time with his family. He especially cherished summers spent traveling with his wife and children to Cape Cod, creating memories that became family traditions. Jimmy loved simple moments, playing cards, sharing laughs and cheering on his beloved Celtics and Patriots. Above all, he treasured every moment with his grandchildren, who brought immense pride and happiness to his life.
He will be deeply missed!
