Obituary published on Legacy.com by Goldman Funeral Chapel - Malden on Nov. 19, 2025.
Dr. Louis George Frank, 82, of Mashpee (formerly of Sudbury and Malden) entered eternal rest on May 24, 2025. Dr. Frank was a dedicated therapist for over 45 years, helping countless children and families across Massachusetts. He was a founding partner of Counseling Collaborative, with offices in Lexington and Sudbury, and he had his own practice in Weymouth, MA. He strongly believed in the value of education, receiving a doctorate from Boston University, a master's from Boston College, and a bachelor's from Clark University. Devoted husband to Carol (Greenstein) and the late Roberta (Kobey), he is survived by his three sons: Eric Frank and his wife Gina Bellavia of Buffalo, NY; Jason Frank and his wife Valerie Frank of Easton, MA; and Adam Frank and his fiancée, Ana Silva, of New York, NY; adored grandfather of Ella, Theo, Lex & Serena; beloved brother to Frances Karas and the late Nancy Promer.
"Lou," as he was known to friends and relatives, had a deep love for golf and cherished his time on the course with his three sons. He spent his retirement years enjoying his life on Cape Cod, making new friends, trying new restaurants, playing golf and pool, and simply loving life with his wife, Carol. Lou was a talented singer, drummer (having played in a successful college band), professor (at the former Fitchburg State College), artist, and baseball pitcher (in his younger years). He taught us many life lessons, but often cited as most important a line from Nat King Cole's "Nature Boy:": "The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return."
The family will be observing Shiva following the graveside service at Lou's sister's house from 4pm to 7pm on Tuesday, at Carol's residence in Mashpee from 4pm to 8pm on Wednesday, and at Lou's son Jason's house from 4pm to 8pm on Thursday.
