James Dobson Obituary

Jim was born to Theodore and Lavern on March 21st 1951 in Highland Park Michigan. Jim was honored to serve and protect, working as a Highland Park officer where he retired as active lieutenant after 21 years. He was an avid sports enthusiast cheering for all of the Detroit teams, U of M, and proudly supported all his grandsons' sports teams. Jim was also a collector. He had a wide range of interests and collected anything from Hard Rock pins to coins, and sports memorabilia. He had it all.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday January 13th at 10am until the 1pm Memorial Service at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons 36900 Schoenherr at Metro Parkway (16 Mile Rd). In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in James's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for cancer research, or the Michigan fraternal order of police.

Jim and I worked together at Huffmaster. Usually Jim handled sensitive and sometimes dangerous investigations. In each case, whether dealing with anxious clients or frightened suspects, Jim brought an air of calm integrity to every circumstance, often gaining the confidence of the perpetrators themselves. That quality of honesty and sincerity is what Jim brought to work each day. It was a pleasure to work with him and trust in his honest contributions. I will miss him. My deepest condolences to Teresa and the family.
