James Billy Dolinger

James Billy Dolinger, 91, of Hurdle Mills, died on Friday, December 19, 2025. Born in Killarney, West Virginia, he was the son of the late James Roy Dolinger and Nola Blevins Dolinger. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his second wife, Betty G. Dolinger; one brother, James Roy Dolinger Jr., and his sister, Linda Dolinger.
Mr. Dolinger was a member of Berry's Grove Baptist Church. In his earlier years, he pastored several churches in the Southern Baptist Association and the American Baptist Association. He loved pastoring and teaching people the Bible. He was also very involved in Huron Valley Youth for Christ in Ann Arbor, MI.
Mr. Dolinger served in the United States Army from 1954-1958. He was a general inspector for General Motors.
Surviving are his two children: Bonnie J. Henson (Ron) of Hurdle Mills and Dale Scott Dolinger (Lisa) of Ypsilanti, MI; one brother, Bobby Dolinger (Jane) of Roxboro; two sisters: Betty D. Stamper and Janie D. Winters, both of Durham; five grandchildren: Jennifer, Shaundra, Lisa, Ruth Anne and Rachel; several great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held 3PM Saturday, January 10, 2025, at the Berry's Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Craig Willingham and his nephew, James Dolinger officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service 2PM in the Sanctuary.
