James Dommel Obituary
peacefully on September 23, 2024, at the age of 88. Born September 14, 1937, in Charles City, Iowa. James is survived by two siblings, Dick (Nancy) Dommel and Susan Taney.
James proudly served in the U.S. Army before pursuing higher education. He earned his
master's degree in education and began his career as a teacher and then Jprincipal. Later, James transitioned into the corporate world, becoming a risk manager for several large companies in the Twin Cities, where his expertise and commitment were highly valued.
James shared 63 wonderful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Darlene who passed away on April 13,2024. Together, they lived in Golden Valley, Minnesota. James was a loving father to their three children, Diann (John) Honadel, Christy (Jim) Keating, and David (Ana) Dommel, and a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
James will be remembered for his kindness, his unwavering support for his family, and his dedication to his community. He enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Arizona Animal Refuge www.arizonaanimalrefuge.org in James's memory.
