Connor James Dommel, of
Chesapeake, VA, born on October 8, 2005, lived 19 years with a spirit of independence and on his own terms, before passing on Saturday, April 26th, 2025.
His heart overflowed with love for his dad, Brandon, his mom, Lydia, and his brother, David. Connor's bond with David was unique; their different personalities complemented one another, and they navigated life with a special understanding. His loyal canine companion, Rocky, also held a special place in his heart.
Connor enthusiastically embraced his work and cherished the company of his many friends. His genuine smile was a gift he readily shared with everyone around him, brightening countless days. He was a cherished son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, friend, neighbor, and coworker, loved by many and a true source of joy to all who knew him.
He leaves behind his adoring maternal grandmother, Michele Mapstone, and paternal grandparents, Claudia and Dave Dommel, who will forever treasure the precious moments shared with Connor. Connor's wide circle of family and friends will undoubtedly miss his bright presence and irresistible laughter.
Though his time with us was far too brief, Connor's impact was profound. He lived fully, loved deeply, and brought immeasurable happiness to those fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed.
A service to commemorate Connor's life will be held on Saturday, May 10th at 12:00pm at the Norfolk Fire-Rescue Training Center, 7120 Granby Street, in Norfolk, Virginia. The celebration of his life will continue at The Knights of Columbus Hall at 211 W. Government Ave. Norfolk, Virginia.
