John C. Brangan

John Crawford Brangan was the second born son to Marvin Lee and Sarah Glen

Brangan in Norfolk, Virginia, May 17, 1940.

He is survived by his wife Stella, two step-daughters, a son and two daughters from

previous marriages, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. John is

preceded in death by an older brother Glen Lee and survived by brother Marvin and

sister Betty.

John and Stella married on June 23, 2001 at the Annunciation Greek Cathedral in

Norfolk. They shared over 24 loving years together in their Chesapeake home.

John served his country in the United States Airforce from 1958-1962.

John devoted his career to serving as president of Adamson Oil Company and as a

certified public accountant.

John's passion for life was reflected in his many interests, which included running

marathons, home repair and improvement, completing challenging Sudoku puzzles,

and volunteering locally for free tax preparation with the AARP.

John passed away in his home during a snowy evening on January 31, 2026 at the

age of 85. His passing marks the end of a life enriched with love for family, close

friends, and the simple joys of life.

John's family would like to extend warm thanks to the caregivers and staff at Suncrest

Care Hospice for making his final few days comfortable.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the charitable

organization of their choice.
