James Ritchie Drye, 85, of Eden, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 2, 2024.  A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Woodmont United Methodist Church with Rev. Christi Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and other times at the home.

James was born March 23, 1939, in Salisbury, NC to the late Albert Wiley Drye and Lottie Irene Ritchie Drye. He served in the US Army in Vietnam and retired from Miller Brewing Co. He enjoyed being with his family and traveling with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brothers, Homer F. Drye and Wiley B. Drye. James is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carol Kluttz Drye; daughter Christine Strader and Husband Greg; son Jonathan Drye and husband Dustin Yankovich; sister-in-law Helen Catoe and nephews Robbie Catoe and wife Cindy; Tommy Catoe and wife Crystal and 4 great-nephews. He is also survived by his 4 granddogs Stella, Otis, Bentley and Lily. Special thanks to all James’ caregivers but especially “Bunny.”
