Dr. James Edward "Jim" Duff

Dr. James "Jim" Duff, beloved husband, father, grandfather and highly respected physician, passed away at home surrounded by family on September 19, 2024, in Ozark MO at the age of 70. He was born on June 1, 1954, in Fort Wayne IN, where he spent the majority of his childhood before moving with his family to Ozark MO. He continued his education at the University of Missouri School of Medicine and became a dedicated doctor. He spent his career serving others in the Springfield community at Jordan Valley, Cox, and Mercy hospital. He was known for his expertise, compassion and unwavering commitment to his patients, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues and the community alike. Dr. Jim Duff will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Outside of his medical career, Jim was a devoted family man who found immense joy in spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. One of his greatest pleasures was being on the lake with them, fishing, boating, camping and simply enjoying the beauty of nature. An avid outdoorsman, he appreciated the peacefulness of the great outdoors. He also had a passion for staying active while leading his family on many adventures.
Jim is survived by his wife, Carla Duff; children, Brian (Marta), Matthew (Rachel), Erik, and Ethan Duff; grandchildren Elsie Duff, Nolan Duff, Robert Duff, Ivy Duff, Everleigh Duff, Anneliese Duff, and Nathaniel Duff; siblings John (Laurie), Linda (Zeke), David (Renee), Steve (Angie) and Danny (Kim) and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Alieda Duff. and grandparents, Herman and Paula Nahrwold, and Jim and Iola Duff.
