James R. Duffy

James R. Duffy, 75, died Saturday, December 13, 2025, at The View Alexandria.

Born January 13, 1950, in Providence, Rhode Island, Jay was raised in Warwick, Rhode Island, and lived most of his life in Arlington, Virginia. He was the son of the late James and Barbara Duffy.

Jay leaves behind a sister, Claudia Totino, and her husband, Phil, of Hopkinton, Massachusetts; a brother, Chris, and his wife, Sandy, of Hooksett, New Hampshire; and one niece and three nephews, Matt and Lila Totino, and Joe and Tim Duffy. He also leaves behind many good neighborhood friends, both two-legged and four-legged.

He was a graduate of Our Lady of Providence Seminary, Warwick, and Brown University, Providence.

For most of his life, Jay worked for the Internal Revenue Service. He was also an avid tennis player and runner, and was a member of the Northern Virginia Running Club.

He will be greatly missed.
