James Dundon Obituary

He was born on July 24, 1926, in Akron, OH the son of the late James and Hazel (Brunner) Dundon. James was raised and educated in Akron, OH until March 22, 1944. where he proudly enlisted with the US Navy during WWII. He was honorably discharged May 1946. James was employed by Bendix Corporation, Utica as machinist supervisor for 36 years. In 2015 he was united in marriage to Elva Abrams. James was a member of VFW Post #2338, West Winfield.
He is survived by his loving wife Elva, children Shirley (Chris) Pratt, Chittenango, Michael (Joey) Dundon, Oriskany, Scot Dundon, Utica, step-children Andria (Alan) Heath, George (Kim) Delisle, Denise Cockey (Rodney), Timothy Abrams, brother Timothy Dundon, grand-children Jason (Rose) Dundon, Shawn Alebrico, step-grandchildren Jessica Galiano, Jordan Heath, Mariah (Terry) Starcher, Spencer (Shelby) Heath, Taylor Cockey (Brock), Austin Cockey and great grandchildren Lucious, Mariam, Benito, Jaelynn, TJ, Scarlett and Sophie along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son James Dundon Jr, siblings William Dundon and Coleen Humberson and the mother of his children Audrey (Kamauff) Dundon.
The family wishes to thank the Barton East Staff of MVHS rehab and nursing for the care given and compassion shown to Jim.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a Celebration of Life for James on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 1PM-4PM from the VFW Post #2338, 752 US RT20, West Winfield, NY 13491.
