James Tomecsko Obituary

James E. Tomecsko, 81 of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully, early Monday morning, February 23, 2026, at the Greenery Health and Rehabilitation Center in North Strabane Twp. He was born on October 28, 1944, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Stephen and Helen Franko Tomecsko. Mr. Tomecsko was raised in Canonsburg and has lived there his entire life. He had been a member of St. Patrick Church and was a graduate of Canonsburg High School. Jim was honorably discharged after proudly serving with the United Sates Air Force. Prior to his retirement, Jim had been employed as a crane operator with Washington Steel Corporation. He also served as a Constable with Canonsburg Boro for many years, working at McDonalds and the 4th of July parade every year. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Time spent with his family making memories was his favorite time of all. He leaves behind his pal, a miniature Dachshund named Bubba J. On June 28, 1986, he married Carole Pro who survives after 39 years of marriage. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his children, George (Sherri) Pro of Canonsburg, Bryan (Nelda) Tomescko of San Antonio, Texas, Veronica Tomiko Stringer of Strabane and James S. (Sandi) Tomecsko of Centerville; his brother, Dave Tomecsko (Lori Colburn) of Black Canyon City, Arizona, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his parents are his brother Stephen "Skip" Tomecsko. Funeral arrangements and cremation have been entrusted into the care of Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc.
