James Hardin "Jim" Edgemon, 91, of Cleveland, TN went to be with the Lord on August 23, 2024 after a lengthy illness. He was born on March 1, 1933 to the late Emmett Edgemon and Arvenia Owen Edgemon in Bradley County, TN.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Woodcok Edgemon and son, Perry Ross Edgemon. His first wife, June Holland Edgemon preceded him in death. Other survivors include grandchildren: Tiffany Edgemon Sweeny (Brian) and Ross Edgemon; great grandchildren: Connor Corbin, Halee Whitehead, and Allysa Whitehead; one brother Robert "Bob" Edgemon. Also surviving from his wife, Pam's family are: Carroll and Tambra Combs, April and Danny Green, Cayci and Eric Freeman, Cooper Freeman, Joshua Green and Rachel Green and many other family members which he loved and enjoyed spending time with.
Jim was co-owner of the Cleveland Tire Center in which he sold in 2003 his interest, after 5 years of traveling with his wife, Pam, he went to work as an Armed Security Guard at the Church of God Headquarters in Cleveland, TN which he totally loved and saw it as a great ministry. Jim was a long time member of Cleveland First Baptist Church where he taught a Sunday School class for a few years, sang in the Church choir, and served as an Armed Security Guard at the First Baptist Church on many occasions. Jim also served on the Board of Directors of Life Bridges for 40 years and had a Group Home built in his honor with his name. Jim was a Life Member of the Cleveland Civitan Club.
Jim was a great prayer warrior and had several pages of family and friends that he prayed for by name every day, a great loss.
Arrangements for Jim are as follows: Visitation will be held in the chapel of First Baptist Church Cleveland from 3pm until 5pm on Thursday August 29, 2024. A celebration of his life will be held at 5pm following visitation with Rev. Jim Gibson officiating. He will be laid to rest at 10:30am on Friday August 30th at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors from the Air Force Honor Guard.
