James Brian Ellis, a dedicated US Postal Carrier for 20 years, passed away peacefully at his home in Cincinnati on September 1, 2024, at the age of 51. Born on November 11, 1972, in Cincinnati, Jim was known for his unwavering commitment to his family, friends, and faith which defined his life.
Jim held a special place in his heart for his loved ones. He is survived by siblings: Linda (Gene) Croxson, Gary Ellis, Cathy (Bob) Bussberg, Jack (Patty) Ellis, Mike Ellis, Mark (Diane) Ellis, Christine (Miles) Hoff, Tracy (Tina) Ellis, Karen (Brian) Blackburn, and David (Jennifer) Ellis and Laura Ellis. He cherished his many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, whom he loved spoiling. Jim was also a devoted Godfather to Kendall, Trevor, Riley, Tara, Justin, and Max.
In addition to his family, Jim leaves behind his life long friend, Tim Monahan, and countless other friends and work colleagues. Also, his loyal puppy, JAK, who was at his side during his final months.
Throughout his life, Jim embraced a range of hobbies and interests. He found excitement in visiting casinos, playing the lottery, and participating in raffles at local festivals. Music brought him great joy, as he thoroughly enjoyed attending concerts and bands. Each year, he co-hosted an epic Annual Pig Roast, at the family home, a testament to his love for bringing people together. Jim took pleasure in sharing trips to Costco and Sam's with friends and family, further showcasing his generous spirit. His passion for collecting slot machines and beer signs reflected his playful personality.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Anna (Schubert) Ellis, along with his beloved niece Kendall Anne and nephew Brandon Bussberg. His legacy of kindness, laughter, and love will forever be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know him. A heart truly larger than life, Jim leaves behind a profound impact on all who crossed his path.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 8, 2024 at the Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home 4619 Delhi Rd. from 5-7 PM. Funeral mass will be Monday, September 9th at 10:30AM at St. Teresa of Avila Church.
Graveside service will follow mass at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Dragonfly Foundation or your charity of choice.
