James Robert (Jim Bob) Endres, 68, of Okreek SD, passed away on May 2, 2025 at his home suddenly but peacefully in Okreek. Private family services for James will be held at a later date.

Jim Bob was born to James and Barbara on October 27th 1956 in Pierre SD. He grew up and went to elementary school in Okreek, before going on to graduate from Todd County High School in Mission. On November 19th 1976 he married Debra (Rahn) whom he had 3 children with.

Jim Bob spent his entire life working on a ranch. At first he was ranching with his grandpa Ollie until his death in 1983, to which Jim continued working along with his wife and children. At times he worked additional jobs to make ends meet. He worked as a mechanic and propane truck driver at the Co-op in Mission, ranch work with Assman Land and Cattle, jack of all trades with the Todd County Highway Department, and finally as a Brand Inspector for the state.

One of Jim Bob's favorite hobbies was competitive shooting. For many years he shot with the South Central Handgunners, even hosting the most popular match when possible. He also shot with the Single Action Shooting Society and the Cowboy Fast Draw Association, competing in the world championship and various state matches for both. Once joining the American Quick Draw Association, Jim won multiple world and state championships. For the last few years he has been shooting small in-state pistol club matches.

Jim was preceded in death by his daughter Jessica, his son Oliver, his mother Barbara, and father James.

He is survived by his wife Debra, son James, sisters Bonnie and Jodi, and granddaughters Jessica and Dakota.
