Obituary of James Darrel Ensign
James "Jim" Ensign, age 75, passed away on October 17, 2023.
Jim was born May 11, 1948 in Osakis, MN to Margaret and Darrel Ensign. Jim grew up in Long Prairie, MN and lived the majority of his life in the Twin Cities Metro Area.
In addition to his two daughters (Rebecca and Jessica), grandsons (Jordan and Trevor), and his love, Ruthie, the three things he loved the most were hunting, fishing and polka music. It was not uncommon to find him enjoying any one of these things on a given day.
Jim spent his career as a printer and when he wasn't working, there were trips to Lake Michigan to go salmon fishing or trips to northern MN to go hunting. Years later Jim and Ruthie would take many trips to go see their favorite polka bands and would dance the night away.
Jim is preceded in death by his loving wife Ruth, parents Margaret and Darrel, and sister Karen. He is survived by daughters; Rebecca (Chris) Zenk and Jessica Ensign, sisters; Marge, Ellie, Jan and Betty; and grandsons Jordan and Trevor Zenk.
Services will be held on November 3, 2023 at the Cremation Society of MN, 7835 Brooklyn Blvd, Brooklyn Park, MN 55445 with a short visitation from 10:30 AM - 11:00 AM, service at 11:00 AM and a light luncheon following the service. A burial will take place at a later date.
