Ronald Levitus Obituary

Published by Legacy from Jul. 27 to Jul. 31, 2025.
Ronald (Ron) Todd Levitus, age 76, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, surrounded by love. Ron was born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Film Studies from New York University and built a career in multimedia production and sales throughout the Twin Cities. A curious and creative soul, Ron had a lifelong passion for photography and a love of sailing, especially racing sailboats on Minnesota's lakes. He was also a dedicated member of Rotary International and his Jewish community, where he found purpose and connection through service. After his dementia diagnosis, Ron and his wife, Marie, became active in the Giving Voice Initiative and other supportive community groups. Music and connection became central to their journey. Ron is preceded in death by his mother, Bernadine Orenstein; his father, Maxim Levitus; and his cherished parents-in-law, Bonnie and Cecil Schlagel. He is survived by his beloved wife and partner of over 40 years, Marie; his three daughters, Arianna (Raymond) DeLorenzi, Morgan (Tyler) Hubert, and Michelle Levitus; and his four grandchildren, Leo and Ethan DeLorenzi and Althea and Margot Hubert. He was a brother, uncle, and friend to many-loyal, kind, and always ready with a story or a smile. Funeral service 3:00pm MONDAY at Bet Shalom Congregation, 13613 Orchard Road, Minnetonka. Shiva 7:00pm Monday and Tuesday at Bet Shalom. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Ron's memory with a gift to Giving Voice Initiative, an organization that brought him joy and community through music.
