Dr. James S. Eubank Sr. passed away peacefully October 5, 2025, at his home in Murfreesboro, TN.
Jim was born October 29, 1942, in Nashville, TN to the late Oscar Leech and Irene Inez Smith Eubank. He graduated from Dickson County High School in 1961, and from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN in 1966. After college, Jim enlisted in the United States Army and served two years. While in the Army, Jim completed his education and training at the Medical Field Service School, received a National Defense Service Medal, and was Honorably Discharged.
During his career as a Doctor of Optometry, Jim worked in eye clinics in Nashville, Clarksville and Murfreesboro, TN until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Oscar Leech Eubank, Jr.
Jim is survived by his wife, Jane Sullivan Eubank; his children Nikki (Mike) Gunnerson, and James S. (Jill) Eubank Jr. He is also survived by his stepchildren Jill (Pat) Franklin, Lori (Larry) Bland, Kelley (Craig) Turner, Tom (Kelly) Lampitt and Tim (Michelle) Lampitt. Also surviving are his grandchildren; Spencer and Jacob Gunnerson, Sean, Megan, Joey and Ryan Franklin, Elle, Will and Cole Turner, and Devin, Jeremiah, Owen Lampitt, and Ben Lampitt.
A private graveside burial with family will be held with Military Honors at the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Nashville, TN on a future date to be determined.
