James Timothy Evans

James Timothy (Tim) Evans, age 67, passed away on February 3, 2026, in Tallahassee, Florida. He was born on March 30, 1958, in Camilla, Georgia.

He is survived by his former wife of 36 years, Beth Evans, who remained a faithful friend to him until the end. He is also survived by his two daughters, Dana Bennett and Rebecca Evans; his mother, Helen Evans; his sister, Cynthia Evans Thompson, her husband, Kevin Thompson; and his nieces, Calynne Thompson and Ashlynne Thompson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Sidney Evans; his paternal grandparents, Durwood and Mary Mae Evans; and his maternal grandparents, Lloyd and Willie Mae Carter.

Tim graduated from Godby High School in 1977. For many years, he worked in the grocery and service industries, where he was known for his reliability and strong work ethic. Known affectionately as Timmy to those closest to him, he had a lifelong love of studying and sharing history. He also enjoyed listening to 1970s music, country comedy, and was a devoted dog lover and a loyal Georgia Bulldogs fan.

His memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
